The Blaxit Book Club

A worldwide community of readers, critical thinkers, and curious seekers who are intentional about showing up as conscious global citizens.

Our Why

The Blaxit Book Club exists to inspire, empower, equip, challenge and enlighten us as we think about our place, our impact, and our potential in an ever-evolving world.

Here is why we read together:

A good book can prepare the mind and the heart for a life abroad as a global citizen, before the ticket is booked and well after you arrive.

It Prepares Us

It enhances critical thinking, deepens empathy, expands worldview, strengthens one’s reasoning, and compels us to slow down and be present — the very skills everyone needs to thrive anywhere in the world.

It Builds Character

Reading in community turns a solitary act into a shared one. Here we’ll keep company, trade ideas and perspectives, and continue evolving — together.

It Connects Us

You Belong In the Blaxit Book Club If...

  • You already live beyond the borders of your birthplace and are weighing where to go next, or how to move through your international life with more intention.

  • You are dreaming of a life abroad, and are preparing to curate a life you love in a new country.

  • You are logging off to read more, and want to trade (doom) scrolling for pure presence and real community.

  • You crave honest, unfiltered conversation, and are ready to say the things that are true for you out loud, while discussing important topics the algorithms tend to bury with like-minded critical thinkers.

  • You move through the world with intention, caring about your impact on the places and the people who encounter you.

“You think your pain and your heartbreak are unprecedented in the history of the world, but then you read.” — James Baldwin

The Type of Books We Read

We’ll journey through revolutionary literary works of art that stretch us and wake us up, across both fiction and non-fiction. When it comes to genres, we don’t discriminate!

Non-Fiction

How It Works

It’s simple. The idea is to read and discuss revolutionary works of literary art. Here is how I envision that happening:

Together we read a single title, with the whole month to move through it at a pace that works for you.

One Book Per Month

Each month, we’ll meet to unpack what the book stirred in us and connect it to the lives we are actually living.

Monthly Virtual Meet-Ups

Between discussions, I’ll share conversation starters and thought-provoking questions on the Beauty in the Blaxit Substack so we stay in dialogue all month long.

Asynchronous Conversation Starters

Whether you join us live or read along quietly on your own, there is a place for you here.

Your Pace, Your Way
